2023 Small Minority Farmers and Ranchers Conference

3334 Kings Highway, Douglas, AZ 85617

May 6, 2023

The future of food was the theme for our 2022 conference. We had over 50 attendees from 4 states.

The future is now and this 2023 conference is anticipated to have 3 times the amount of attendees with over 100 farmers in attendance. This is an inclusive and exclusive event for farmers of all types from veterans, urban gardeners, off grid farmers, homesteads, preppers, beginning farmers and more.

At the conference last year the farmers were able to learn about the various farming programs and how they work to support the farmers. This year word has spread and more are coming to see how much growth has happened. Since 2022 the non profit has grown to support over 900K in financed assets to minority farmers and in 2023 1.3 million is set to close in Q1. The event will be held at the newly acquired Stewart Pastures Meat Facility which is also on 40 Acres.

This year we have speakers from the USDA Racial Equity Advisor Mr. Dewayne Goldmon and NCAT "National Center for Appropriate Technology" Mr. Justin Duncan. A guest speaker from People 1st Global Food and Land Reclamation Foundation's UTRTP Urban to Rural Transition Program Saudi the Plant Stand Man will speak about his positive experience in the program. Mr. Brian McGrew from the AZ Dept of Ag is presenting on Growing Hemp. The

This Annual Conference supports the Urban to Rural Transition Program helping Small and Minority farmers to grow at their own pace in the farming industry. In 2022 the UTRTP assisted in over 350 Acres being registered with the USDA Farm Service as Black Owned in Cochise County. Your sponsorship supports this important conference, food production, entrepreneurship and land ownership.
